Conventional Air Conditioners operate at a fixed speed, delivering a fixed amount of cooling (and heating if reverse cycle). As they try to maintain the set temperature they operate on a ‘stop/start’ principle. Start up is the time most power is used. Inverter technology operates differently. It works by gently increasing or decreasing the power. It reaches the desired temperature quicker and maintains it without wild (stop/start) fluctuations. That results in more even comfort and significant energy savings.
